Virat and Anushka are all geared up for their Italian wedding at a heritage property within a resort in Tuscany
It is pretty much confirmed India’s marriage of the year, between cricket captain Indian Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, will be solemnised in Italy.
While there have been reports suggesting that the wedding will take place on December 15 and not on December 12 as reported earlier but no confirmations have come yet.
It has been confirmed by various sources that the fabled couple is going to get married at a heritage property within a resort in Tuscany. The resort has been decked up for the heavyweight event, with a security cordon around the resort where guests with invitation only will be allowed.
The couple, along with their respective families, took off to Italy in the wee hours of Friday.
Arrangements for a typically Punjabi wedding are reportedly being made by the wedding planner, the sources said. Professional bhangra dancers were seen entering the resort. The beats of drums and dhol-nagare came from the venue.
About Virat and Anushka’s wedding Venue – Borgo Finocchieto in Buoncovento
Borgo Finocchieto in Buoncovento is about an hour from the city of Tuscany and is known for its celebrity-endorsed resort. The property is a restored 13th Century village that has five villas. The word ‘borgo’ is Italian for ‘village’. ‘Finochietto’ in Italian means an orchard, or fields, of fennel. The owner of the Borgo bought the property in 2001, and is said to have spent eight years restoring the 13th Century village and giving it its present look. Borgo Finocchieto sits right next to Italy’s wine capital, Montalcino. Anushka’s vineyard wedding done right!!

More about Anushka Virat wedding…..
It is also heard that Virat Kohli has organised a grand reception in Mumbai on December 26, two days after the final game of the Sri Lanka tour, the third Twenty20 tie, is played in Mumbai. Reports also claim that a SoBo (South Mumbai) five-star hotel has been booked for their reception on December 21. Virat’s manager was surprisingly tight-lipped about the same even though he flatly denied such rumours in October.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials, Bollywood celebrities, many from the political fraternity and top personalities from the corporate world have been reportedly invited to the reception. While Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are two of the biggest names to have been invited for the wedding, from the cricketing world, it’s Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar who are expected to attend the wedding in Italy.
