A YouGov poll reveals the world’s most admired persons in the world in 2019
Former first Lady of the US Michelle Obama and Microsoft founder Bill Gates are the most admired people in the world, according to 2019 YouGov poll which is annual study of which public figures the people of our planet look up to.
Former US president Barack Obama comes in second, and the third to fifth places are all occupied by Chinese figures: actor Jackie Chan in third, president Xi Jinping in fourth and businessman Jack Ma in fifth.
YouGov is an internet-based market research and data analytics firm headquartered in UK. This year the study expanded to cover the views of people in 41 countries – the most ever – with more than 42,000 people being interviewed to compile the list.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the world’s most admired Indian according to the poll. While PM Modi holds the highest position of all the Indians on the list, his global ranking is number six. He is the only Indian politician on the list. The remainder of the Indian presence is made up only of Bollywood actors.
Among the Bollywood celebs, Amitabh Bachchan is on the 12th position while Shah Rukh Khan is on the 16th. Salman Khan is on rank 18. Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and former beauty queens Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai were on the top 20 women list.
Sushmita Sen expressed the happiness through a tweet saying, “What an Honour!!! Thank you friends from around the World, for always finding a way to reciprocate my love & admiration!!!
